This Week at PVUMC 12/16/24

Sunday’s Sermon: This week I preached on Joy being the ability to connect with God in all of our feelings. You can read it here.

Christmas Eve Services: Our Christmas Eve services will be at 6pm and 11pm. They will be the same service and will include communion and candlelight caroling. Come all ye faithful. Our Christmas Eve offering will be donated to pay for the school lunch debt at Pleasant View Elementary.

Called Charge Conference (Sunday, January 19th after church): Our District Superintendent, Rev. Pat Freudenthal has called a Charge Conference to vote on two items. 1) Approval to sell an unused portion of our pavilion property and 2) to vote on a new treasurer (Thank you Lois!). Per the Book of Discipline both of these require a Called Charge Conference by the DS. All members of the church are encouraged to attend. It should be a fairly brief meeting. If you have any questions about either of these please don’t hesitate to reach out to Pastor Steve, the Trustees, or the Finance Committee.

Advent Family Worship: Our last gathering will be this Wednesday: 5:30-7:00pm: come for supper and stay for interactive and contemplative worship for all ages in the sanctuary. We will close our time with communion. This week we will be meditating and praying about Joy. Come and see.

Thursday Advent Bible Study with Pastor Steve: (9:30 – 11:00a). Last gathering! Join us in the Purple Room for an examination of Jesus’ healing stories in the Gospel of Luke.

Nursery Care: We are looking for one Sunday School volunteer and two Worship Service volunteers each Sunday to look after our little ones. If you are interested in serving in the nursery, click here to sign up. All of our nursery volunteers must be background checked and trained in Safe Sanctuary.
