Happy Friday to everyone! What a week of weather it has been. I am writing to update you on the status of our gathering on Sunday in light of the winter weather we’ve been experiencing. The parking lot and the road in front of the church is still very much covered in ice and the temperature appears to consistently be below freezing for the rest of the weekend. In light of everyone’s safety I am urging anyone who does not have a four wheel drive vehicle or does not feel confident driving on ice to gracefully stay home and watch the service on Facebook Live. We are still planning to have worship in person at 10am as well as Children’s Church and Nursery Care during the service. However, Sunday School is cancelled, though there will still be coffee in the fellowship hall starting around 9am.
Grace and peace to you all,
Pastor Steve

This Week at PVUMC 1/16/24
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ on this very cold and quiet snow week. I pray everyone is well and warm and has everything you need. Please don’t hesitate to give me a call if you find yourself without supplies or warmth. I have a 4×4 truck and would be happy to come and deliver anything you need! With the weather continuing to look like it is, the church office will be closed until further notice and we will update you about Sunday morning as we get closer to the weekend.
Read Pastor Steve’s Sermon
On Sunday I preached on our bodies being temples of the Holy Spirit. Your presence matters for the unfolding of God’s Kingdom. Read it here.
Kids Club!
Thanks to Amanda Pratt for starting a new monthly gathering for our children, ages 3-10. Kids Club is going to be a fun filled evening of learning to love like Jesus. We will eat supper, play games, and have interactive bible study. Parents are welcome to stay, enjoy refreshments and hang out with Heather and I in the fellowship hall. This, like VBS, is a tremendous opportunity to bring in new families to our church. Please spread the word and have people RSVP with me: steven.lefebvre@twkumc.org
Journey to Freedom Returns in Lent
Starting in Lent we will be offering Journey to Freedom small groups on Wednesday Nights. There will be two offerings: Journey to Freedom (with Me and Jenny Barnes) & Journey to Transformation (with Scott Reall and Heather Lefebvre). For those who went through Journey to Freedom last fall and would like to go deeper in their recovery, Journey to Transformation is a tremendous opportunity to work on your spiritual health with the author of the book and a licensed marriage and family therapist. Groups will run February 21 – April 10th (5:30 – 7:30) and are open to the public (spread the word). Registration has begun! To register, email me and simply tell me which group you’d like to be in: steven.lefebvre@twkumc.org. Registration is just $20 and includes the book.
New Member Service
At the end of our stewardship campaign we will be welcoming new members into the fold. If you have been visiting with us and have been considering becoming a new member, transferring your membership, or getting baptized for the first time, please don’t hesitate to connect with me. Our New Member Service is February 4th, don’t delay! Also please plan to stick around for the luncheon provided by our 55 & Alive Sunday School class!

Inclement Weather Policy 1/10/24
In the event of inclement weather, PVUMC will follow the Cheatham county schools closure schedule. During the week if school is closed or dismisses early, all events at the church will be cancelled and the office closed.
For Sunday services, a text message, email, and Facebook post will be sent to let you know of any schedule changes. Please make sure you are getting the emails and text messages. We will also update our Facebook page. Email Pastor Steve if you would like to be added to our email or text communications.
Sincerely,
Jessica Harrison
